Our Purpose At Wonder&Code, we’re reimagining charity to make giving joyful and impactful. This Code of Conduct explains how we’ll act with honesty, fairness, and care — so you know your donations are in good hands. We promise transparency, accountability, and a commitment to doing the most good possible for everyone involved.
1. Fair Pay for Everyone #
Salary Caps: This initiative is non-profit. There are no shares to be traded; no investment to grow; no profit to be made. Indeed, any profit to be had would be doing less good (serving greed) rather than serving our purpose.
There is no way to ethically profit from the system we are building. That said, we recognize the need for fair, equitable, and competitive pay for our board members, officers, indepdendent contributing contractors, and employees.
- No board member, representative, officer, full time employee, nor independent contributing contractor (solo “1099”) at Wonder&Code will make more than 3 times the average income of someone living in state in which they reside.
- No officer or full time employee of the organization will make less than $92,000/year USD (2024) adjusted for inflation no matter their role or responsibilities.
- When there is conflict between these two rules use the higher result for employees, and the lower result for board members, officers, and independent contributing contractors.
2. Donations go exactly where you send them #
Every dollar goes to its intended purpose. If you donate to a specific cause (like education or environmental projects), 100% of that money will fund it.
Platform Development vs. Charitable Giving: Funds donated to Wonder&Code for building our app and tools are kept separate from donations given through our platform to causes. You’ll always know where your money is used.
Ensuring Impact Through Fair Bidding (Fund Transfer & Bid Restrictions): To make sure your funds have the biggest impact:
- At least 3 groups must compete for every project. This stops favoritism and ensures we pick solutions that work best.
- Impact comes first. We’ll choose bids based on measurable results, not just cost or connections. Example: If two programs aim to feed hungry families, the one that has the highest probability of saving the most lives with your money wins.
- Data driven results. Everything we do is driven by data, telemetry, metrics, impact reports, data partnerships, and integrations with charity accountability organizations. Not only do we live by the metrics, we research and drive new measures, and then report those transparently back to you.
3. How We’re Governed Over Time #
We’re growing from a small team into a community-driven organization. Here’s how decisions will be made:
- Now: A single leader makes quick, focused calls during our startup phase. This is Raymond Chandler III for the next 2–3 years to build the foundation. This role as Benevolent Dictator is temporary.
- Near Future: A board of 12 experts will guide us once we’re stable. These leaders will represent areas of critical interest to our initatives like fundraising, AI, technology, ethics, and effective altruism.
- Long-Term Vision: You’ll help choose our future! Eventually, we’ll use a fair system to randomly select
representatives from our community (at least 1 rep for every 50,000 users, bound and apportioned to locality and
region). This “user governance” ensures everyone’s voice is heard.
- Balance of Voices: Decision making power will be split one-half between the 12 member Board of Directors, and one-half the community governance model described above. Raymond Chandler III will vote last on all issues.
- Benevolent Dictator for Life: Raymond Chandler III as the founder of this initative will remain a board member until his death with all the previlieges and/or responsibilities that requires. He will hold 2 seats. He will vote last on all issues.
4. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion #
We’re committed to fairness in hiring and leadership:
- Diversity: We’ll hire people from all backgrounds—including Black, Indigenous, LGBTQ+, veterans, neurodivergent individuals—and ensure they grow into leadership roles.
- Equity: Everyone gets what they need to thrive. This includes mentorship, flexible work options, and programs to support those from underprivileged groups (e.g., scholarships for training).
- Inclusion & Belonging: Our culture is built on respect and love. We’ll actively listen to all perspectives, celebrate differences, and make sure everyone feels they belong here—even if they’re new or “different.”
5. Protecting People and Planet #
We care about more than just charity—we’re committed to:
- Employee Well-being: Fair pay, mental health support, and a safe, inclusive workplace.
- Environmental Stewardship: Reducing our carbon footprint (e.g., energy-efficient tech, paperless operations).
- Community Impact: Supporting local initiatives through partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and businesses near you.
6. Your Right to Know #
We’ll always be open:
- Monthly Impact Reports: You’ll get stories and stats showing how your donations changed lives (e.g., “Your $50 helped feed 10 families!”).
- Transparent Choices: If our AI suggests a donation plan, you can tweak it anytime—it’s your money, your call.
7. Accountability #
If we ever slip up:
- We’ll admit mistakes publicly and fix them.
- You can ask questions or voice concerns at wonderandcode@gmail.com.
Our Promise to You #
