Raymond Chandler III
I make games, write software and contemplate the meaning of life and better ways to serve one another.

This page is serving as the temporary project board for the Wonder & Code initiative. It is primarily used by Raymond to track his daily work towards the goals of the nonprofit. This is a great way to keep track of what I am working on and the direction the initiative is headed in.

Planned Content & Concepts
#

  • Utilitarianism
    • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLCUn6h7qRo
    • Hedonism - Pain is bad. Pleasure is good.
    • Consequentialism - The consequences of our actions is what matters.
    • Aggregation - Add the “scores” for pleasure minus pain up. That is what matters.
  • Modified Utilitarianism
    • Modified Hedonism: Limiting or eliminating suffering is more important than maximizing pleasure. When accounting for wealth, pleasure is gained at a rate porportional to the inverse of the square of the total wealth under one’s direct control. A gain from $0 to $100 is more significant than a gain from $100 to $1000 which is more signficiant than a gain from $1000 to $10,0000.
    • Modified Consequentialism: The Paradox of the Martyr (or why Luigi was wrong). You cannot predict the outcomes from your actions and so cannot assess the virture or merit of an action which is justified by the ends itself. Any imagined “ends” are a delusion of the ego. Merit and virtue is not gained by the bad action, but by those who respond to the bad action with good. Therefore it cannot be said that the evil actions of a man can be justified by their intended outcome. The ends cannot justify the means without accurate foresight.
    • Modified Aggregation: Happiness does not continue to increase on given inputs. It has a declining marginal rate of return. Not accounting for this logarythmic curve is our great mistake. Distribution of wealth matters.
  • An obvious moral truth. We all are committing grave acts of evil everyday.
    • Affluence, Morality, and Famine
    • The immorality of billionares.
    • The immorality of allowing billionares to exist.
    • A plan to ethically eradicate the billionare class. (without harming any humans)
    • A plan to convince billionares to fund their own destruction.
    • What do billionares actually do with their money?
    • What happens if we take all the billionares money from them? What then?
  • What is wrong with America? Troubleshooting the rulebook!
    • How many representatives should there be?
    • How many senators should there be?
    • Taxation without representation. The core problem dividing America.
    • Designing a system that returns the voice to the people.
    • Understanding economic systems in game design
    • Understanding power dynamics in game systems
  • The things that are coming…
    • How specialization and hyper personalization of social media and your entire internet experience has warped your perspective.
    • Asia, Abundance, and Automation.
    • The collapse of complex societies.
    • AI’s drive towards optimization.
    • The reality of what is being optimized and fought over.
    • What happens where there is no moat… ANYWHERE?
